Pump n Go Logo

Phil Designed the initial logo, and after going over it in Illustrator I decided I preferred to hand draw in Photoshop. I took inpiration from 40's cartoons (Mickey Mouse, Ect).

Logo Sketch

Small quick drawing for a logo mascot. Penny is going to be refining the design and then we will make it a 3D model too

Mouse Progress: UV

Mouse Progress: Retopo

For retopo I begin with decimating my mouses mesh in Zbrush, this is so that Maya can process it better. Next I out lined the areas I want to deform with loops.

After this I went through and connected the mesh bits together and went on to do the body beginning with the legs since they'll be deforming the most, next was the tummy area then the feet themselves. I used reference Images of human hand topology and rat/mouse body topology.

Mouse Progress: Sclupting

Mondays version:

End of Tuesdays version:
I worked on refining the shapes and rhythms of the mouse looking at reference made me realize the faces silhouette looked off and made his face look too large. What really helped was grabbing the snout and pointing it down wards, also making the top lip hang over the bottom lip really made a big difference for the realism.

This angle doesn't show it but he was quite a wide mouse so I narrowed him down.
After requesting feedback I was told the tail was too thick and so I check my reference and sure enough his tail was quite chunky.

Currently I have to look for a solution to the fur of our mouse because I'm not sure how much fur will impact our render times.

Mouse Progress: Basemesh

Base mesh I whipped up on friday so that I can sculpt details in Zbrush

Mouse Progress: Moodboard / Reference sheet

On the right I have feet and naked mice references and on the left I have just photos of mice so I have an Idea of what they look like normally in their own Environments, looking specifically to how mice deform for later in the pipeline when I'm skinning the mouse.

Gas Station: Rough 3D Model

Gas Station: Layout

Refinement of gas station interior and pumps for out side views

Gas Station: Mood Board

Gas Station: Initial Layout

Rough layout of the gas station and where each shot will take place.

1. Window, shelf and robot arm
2. Travels from shelf to the skull
3. Takes the food from the skull
4. Runs away from robot
5. Caught by robot at the window

The layout will need more refinement and an exterior will also need to be roughed out for shots that look through windows

Early Stroyboard

1. Mouse Arrives in window
2. Travels along the shelf past various objects
3. Climbs over robots arm and jumps on remote
4. Mouse reacts
5. TV light turns on, scares mouse and wakes up robot
6. Mouse travels to the skull
7. The mouse takes food from a skulls open mouth while the silhouette of the robot is at the end of the aisle
8. Mouse runs away with food
9. Climbs up broom back onto the shelf
10. One robot hand stops the mouse
11. Second robot hand. Mouse is trapped
12. Friendly robot

Idea Proposal

1.Mouse leaves for food
2.Activates Tv the robots activates
3.Robot destroys the Tv then notices the mouse the chase begins
4.Mouse runs and hides tension builds
5.Stumbles on food he leaves for home
6.He almost loses food but manages anyway.

  • Scene 1:
    • Slow pan over broken store showing toppled shelves and empty boxes etc.
    • Mouse appears on the window sill, climbing through a hole made in the corner of a cracked window. Sniffs the air, looks left and right and then jumps down onto a shelf and heads deeper into the shop. 3
  • Scene 2:
    • Mouse runs across shelves and has to squeeze past a glass bottle and a (gun/ box/skull/thing) and knock the glass bottle off the shelf. Bottle falls and smashes over an old tv which jumps to life due to the sudden impact. 5
  • Scene 3:
    • The TV shows a news anchor telling about how the (name of evil company) robots turned against humans and wiped them out. And contact with the robots is unadvised and people are told to stay inside their homes and to make as little noise and attention as possible 5
  • Scene 4:
    • During the news show, a robot the anchor was talking about, in sleep mode hears the noise of the tv and turns on. Seeing a human/noise the robot punches/shoots the tv, destroying it and making the room go silent. Faint squeaky and rustling of the mouse can be heard and the robot turns to see the mouse run around a corner and hide.
  • Scene 5:
    • The mouse runs down an aisle as the robot rounds the corner
  • Scene 6:
    • The mouse climbs into an old can/human skull to hide while the robot stops past. The point of view is from inside the skull with a small opening looking at the legs of the robot walk past.
  • Scene 7:
    • The noise of the robot grows fainter as the robot moves away, rustling of the robot searching can still be heard. The mouse leave its hiding spot, climbs up a broom handle leaning against the wall which leads back to the same cracked window it arrived in at the start of the scene
