For the broken window I spent a large amount of time creating my own tool in Houdini to break the glass. The tool was made by following a few different tutorials and taking the aspects that I felt worked best to make it my own.
I imported the gas station scene into the simulation so I could properly size and place the window as well as the window sill and counter top so the small pieces of glass would fall in a place that made sense for the scene. Once I had run the simulation I exported the final geo into Maya, reduced the polycount so it wasn't as performance heavy and placed it in the scene where it belonged. The crack was in the right place in regards to the window grate so the mouse can come in and out of the station and make it believable
