Now that I am ready to texture all the assets I added a new tab to our master sheet to keep track of my texture progress. I have split the graph up into 8 sections.
- UV Ready - making sure the models have UVs in the right tiles
- Textured - added colour, roughness, emissive, etc.
- Arnold Shader - Created the Arnold Standard Surface Shader in Maya and hoked up the relevant texture maps
- Continuity Check v.1 - Looking at all the textures in a scene to make sure the various textures make sense and line up when combined
- Look-Dev - Add in a simple 3 point light set up and remap the needed maps to improve the texture in engine
- Continuity Check v.2 - Looking at all the remapped texture again to make sure they all look good together.
- Cache Export - When the scene is cached so we can improve performance, the texture nodes don't get exported so I will individually export each shader network to be re imported in the new file.
- Completed - Done.
